Home Buying Guide
1. Get Pre-approved
The home buying process starts here. Knowing what a lender is willing to give you is the first step. Once you know how much you can afford, doors will open up for you in more ways than one!
2. Select an agent
Find an agent who can help you navigate through the process. Find someone who is up to date on current product knowledge and someone whom you can trust. Ask questions while giving them your home-buying wish list. Find an agent who is fully equipped with a can do attitude and ready to make it happen on your behalf.
3. Preview Properties
Once you find a few properties of interest, call your agent. They schedule and coordinate showing on your behalf. During showings, bring a pen and note pad to take notes of the pros and cons of each property. The more you know and remember, the easier it will be to narrow down your choices.
4. Making the Offer
Once you’ve decided on a home, your agent will prepare an offer on your behalf. During this time, they will explain the terms of the contract step by step so you have a clear understanding of what your are signing. Next will be submitting the offer with the pre-approval letter from your lender.
5. Once the Offer is accepted
After negotiations have taken place and your offer has been accepted, you are on your way to closing. You will continue to work with your lender on your application package. Once they have all documentation needed, they then start working on title, order appraisals, surveys etc. Your agent will also be scheduling the inspection, ordering home warranties while making sure timelines are being met.
